We are looking for an experienced and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our hotel and ensure an exceptional experience for every guest.

The Operations Manager will work closely with department heads across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Maintenance and other operational areas to maintain high standards of service, efficiency, safety and profitability.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about hospitality, enjoys developing people and has a strong eye for operational detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the hotel's daily operations and ensure all departments operate efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Lead, motivate and support department managers and operational teams.
  • Ensure consistently high levels of guest service and satisfaction.
  • Monitor guest feedback, reviews and complaints, taking prompt action to resolve issues.
  • Maintain and improve hotel operating standards, procedures and service delivery.
  • Work closely with the General Manager to achieve financial, operational and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, costs, staffing levels and productivity.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management and development of team members.
  • Conduct regular operational inspections and ensure hotel facilities and guest areas are maintained to a high standard.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, licensing, fire safety, food safety and other relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate communication between departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
  • Assist with forecasting, scheduling and workforce planning.
  • Manage operational issues and emergencies calmly and effectively.
  • Support the hotel in achieving its commercial and revenue objectives.
  • Deputise for the General Manager when required.
  • Represent the hotel professionally with guests, suppliers, contractors and other stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous management experience within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A commercial mindset with an understanding of hotel profitability and cost control.
  • The ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to hotel operations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high personal standards.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety and hospitality compliance requirements.
  • The flexibility to work across different shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.

Desirable

  • Experience in a similar Operations Manager, Hotel Manager, Deputy General Manager or senior hospitality management position.
  • Relevant hospitality qualification or degree.
  • Experience with hotel property-management systems and other hospitality technology.
  • Experience managing budgets, KPIs and departmental performance.
  • Experience working in a busy, full-service or independently operated hotel.
